Our plea is to empower women with the basic necessities such as sanitary napkins. It is really unfortunate to see that out of 355 million menstruating females only 36 percent of it use napkins (the remaining use old cloth, rags, husk or ash to manage the flow) and nearly 23 million girls drop out of school annually during their periods. Almost all the girls in the slum areas depend on the supply from their school as they cannot afford to buy the sanitary and with schools shut because of the lockdown, the supply of pads too has stopped. Also, women in slums and rural area still struggle to get a clean piece of cloth during their period and as a result they have to face many vicious diseases due to non-availability of a clean and hygienic cloth.

Our donation drive will raise funds to distribute Sanitary pads to the underprivileged community which will help them get rid of the unhygienic cloth and manage their periods. We will also focus on creating awareness among adolescent girls and women about the significance of using sanitary napkins. Our focus will also be to make sanitary pads are available in the remote villages too as pads are generally not available in the store and for that people have to go to the nearest town or district to buy it which makes it more difficult as girl may not be comfortable asking the men in the family to buy it for them.
